The Partnership Invites International Travelers to Register by Monday to Interview for Global Entry Status

July 6, 2017

GREATER DES MOINES, IOWA — International travelers will have the opportunity to interview in Greater Des Moines (DSM) for Global Entry status and bypass long lines when re-entering the U.S. The Greater Des Moines Partnership will host the Department of Homeland Security from Aug. 8 through 11 to hold interviews. A maximum of 240 pre-approved Global Entry applicants will be interviewed at The Partnership.

Global Entry is a program developed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection to expedite entry into the U.S. for low-risk, pre-screened international travelers at 40 major U.S. Airports. Upon arriving in the U.S., members can proceed directly to an automated Global Entry kiosk and bypass passport control lines and paper customs declarations. Travelers in DSM who wish to apply for Global Entry status normally must travel to Minneapolis or Chicago to interview.

“This is a great opportunity for travelers to apply for Global Entry status right here in DSM and make their international travel experience go more smoothly,” said Mary Bontrager, Executive Vice President of Talent Development at The Partnership. “This service complements The Partnership’s Global DSM efforts as well as our cultural exploration efforts, including the upcoming cultural exploration trip in September to Australia.”

Those who wish to interview for Global Entry status must register with The Partnership by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, July 10 to be considered for the program. Global Entry is open to U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents. The application and interview process is open to the public. To begin the process, click here. Applicants should direct any questions to Molli Miller at The Partnership at (515) 286-4901 or mmiller@DSMpartnership.com.
