Experience Music and Dance Performances Around the Globe in Downtown Des Moines

DOWNTOWN DES MOINES, IOWA — Music and dance entertainment information has been announced for the 13th annual World Food & Music Festival to be held in Western Gateway Park in Downtown Des Moines Friday, Sept. 15 through Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017. The Festival is Greater Des Moines’ (DSM’s) premier food and music festival that celebrates diverse cuisine and entertainment from around the world. Admission is free.

Walker McGuire will headline The Festival on Friday night. Rolling Stone Country lauded Walker McGuire a “Top 10 New Country Artist You Should Know” in February 2017 and their debut single “Til Tomorrow” has earned nearly 15 million Spotify streams to-date and has garnered placement on Spotify’s “Best of 2016 Hot Country” playlist.

On Saturday night, The Bottle Rockets will take the Main Stage. Based out of St. Louis, Mo., The Bottle Rockets having been playing roots rock, folk and alternative country since the early 90’s.

In addition to the headliners, the World Food & Music Festival main stage will feature the Brazilian 2wins, Punching Pandas, The Maytags and Rocky Raccoon. Salsa Des Moines and the Gateway Dance Theatre will be taking the stage for various dance performances.

The World Food & Music Festival will contain 53 food vendors representing more than 25 countries and culinary regions including Italy, the Mediterranean, Thailand, Ecuador, Jamaica, the Netherlands, France, South Korea, the Philippines, Mexico, India, Morocco, Great Britain, Bosnia, El Salvador and more.
