June 10, 2016

Greater Des Moines Partnership Public Policy Manager Andrea Woodard has started her term as the President of the Junior League of Des Moines, an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action of leadership of trained volunteers. Woodard is serving a one-year term through May 1, 2017.

“We are proud of Andrea’s continued dedication and leadership in our community,” said Joseph Jones, Senior Vice President of Government Relations and Public Policy at The Partnership. “Andrea brings a ‘get it done’ attitude to all of her endeavors, including her work at The Partnership. I know she will bring the same attitude to her role with Junior League.”

“I am honored to take the lead this year of such a historic and well-respected organization in our community,” Woodard said. “I am excited to lead the organization through the creation of a new fundraising effort and the selection of a new community impact project, as well as to help set up future leaders for success.”

Founded in 1931, Junior League of Des Moines is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year.
