The Partnership Wins LWBJ Impact Award

April 15, 2016

The Greater Des Moines Partnership has been awarded the LWBJ Impact Award for impacting Iowa’s technology future. The honor was presented by Dave Hove and JD Geneser, Senior Partners at LWBJ to Partnership CEO Jay Byers and Executive Director of Entrepreneurial Initiatives Mike Colwell on Thursday, April 14 before an audience of nearly 1,000 attendees at the Technology Association of Iowa’s (TAI) 2016 Prometheus Awards in Downtown Des Moines.

The LWBJ Impact Award recognizes an individual or organization that has made a significant impact on the growth, success, and sustainability of Iowa’s technology industry.

The Greater Des Moines Partnership was recognized as a strategic driver of Central Iowa’s technology industry through its initiation of the Square One DSM and Plains Angels programs, and of its support of additional programs and events including 1 Million Cups Des Moines.

To date, the Greater Des Moines Partnership Board has invested $1.7 million in Central Iowa’s startup community, which has resulted in a direct return of $17 million in invested capital.

“The Partnership has helped put Central Iowa on the map globally by providing assistance to startup and technology companies in all sectors, particularly those in key markets such as finance and insurance and the ag/biosciences,” said LWBJ Senior Partner Dave Hove.

“We are honored to be recognized by the Technology Association of Iowa and LWBJ,” said Jay Byers, Greater Des Moines Partnership CEO. “This truly is a win for all of Greater Des Moines, and it further motivates us to reach new heights in advancing our region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
