GREATER DES MOINES, IA (March 20, 2018) — The Greater Des Moines Partnership has announced that Rob Poterucha, Senior Accountant in the Business Advisory and Tax Services Department at McGowen, Hurst, Clark & Smith, P.C., will be the next presenter in the Top Five For Small Business Series. Poterucha will present on the “Top Five Ways Tax Reform Will Affect Your Business (And You Personally).” The Top Five Series features presentations to inform, educate and inspire business owners in Greater Des Moines (DSM). The events focus on a variety of timely topics that affect business owners and managers including legal, human resources, information technology, marketing, accounting and other pressing issues.

The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28 at the Greater Des Moines Partnership, 700 Locust St., Ste. 100 in Des Moines. Poterucha’s presentation will begin at Noon.

Poterucha’s presentation will focus on the new tax bill and how it will affect businesses as well as individuals. Specifically, the presentation will go into detail on five topics: tax rates, general provisions, pass-through taxation, Iowa tax considerations and individual taxation. There will be many examples to illustrate the various changes and how they could benefit a business or an individual. The presentation will try and simplify the complex tax bill into ways that are easily understood. 

Poterucha primarily specializes in compliance and consulting services for corporations, closely-held businesses and individuals with an emphasis in multi-state taxation. Poterucha is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Iowa Society of CPAs.
