Partnership Expands Its Geography Again!
The Greater Des Moines Partnership has expanded its economic development service territory, adding three new local partners: the Pella Area Development Corporation, the City of Knoxville and Marion County. The Partnership now supports the economic development marketing and promotion efforts in Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Polk and Warren Counties.
The Partnership’s Economic Development team provides specialized industry research, comprehensive assistance with site selection, and connections to local, state, and national leaders for companies looking to start, expand or relocate a business in Greater Des Moines. The team serves as a single point of contact for the region, providing comprehensive demographic and business climate information, identifying real estate options, organizing and leading visits of the region for site, building, and workforce evaluation, and coordinating local and state incentives applications.
Since 1999, the Partnership, working with our local economic development partners, has assisted 422 companies who have chosen to locate or expand in the region. Of these businesses, 137 were new to the area. These projects occupy nearly 17 million square feet of office and industrial space across the region, and account for almost 22,000 new or retained jobs. They have added $3.4 billion in capital investment to the region.
