Partnership CEO Jay Byers Re-Elected to Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives Board
Greater Des Moines Partnership CEO Jay Byers has been re-elected to serve on the board of directors for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), an Alexandria, Va.-based professional association for chambers of commerce and similar economic and community development organizations. This is the second stint that Byers has served on the ACCE board, having served from 2012 to 2015, including as a member of the executive committee in 2014 and 2015.
The more than 60 members of ACCE’s board of directors represent organizations based in communities in 40 U.S. states, Canada and France.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the newly elected directors and look forward to collaboratively moving our communities forward, which is what we’ve accomplished together for the past century,” said ACCE President Mick Fleming.
The mission of the 102-year-old ACCE organization is to support and develop chamber professionals to lead businesses and their communities. ACCE identifies and analyzes trends affecting communities, shares best practices, convenes thought leaders and develops benchmarking studies. Board members help refine existing programs and shape new resources to help chamber leaders improve operations and drive mission success at their organizations.
ACCE’s vision and mission remain fundamentally unchanged from 100 years ago, but its approach has evolved over time to meet the modern needs of chambers of commerce.
