Neugent to Lead Partnership Board

Gerry Neugent, President and CEO of Knapp Properties Inc., will take over as the 2015 Chair of the Partnership’s Board of Directors. Neugent was voted into the position by the 2014 Board on Dec. 12.

A strong group of business people will join Neugent in leadership roles on the board. Jim Brannen, CEO of FBL Financial Group, will serve as a Vice-Chair. Don Pearson, Great Plains Region President for Wells Fargo, will serve as a Vice Chair. Paul Schickler, President at DuPont Pioneer, will serve as the Past Chair. Steve Zumbach, Shareholder at Belin McCormick P.C., will serve as Secretary/Treasurer.

Neugent assumed the role of as Knapp’s President and CEO in 2014, after having worked as President and Chief Operating Officer of the company since 1993. His strong background in real estate law gives him a solid foundation for the management and development of the firm. Prior to his work with Knapp, Neugent worked for Belin, Harris, Lamson, McCormick Law Firm as a partner and real estate expert for four years, and was named in The Best Lawyers in America 1993-94 edition. He began his career at the law firm of Wimer, Hudson, Flynn & Neugent, where he worked for 13 years. Neugent earned his undergraduate degree from Marquette University in 1973 and his Juris Doctorate from Drake University in 1976.

In addition to his executive duties at Knapp Properties and volunteer leadership with the Partnership, Neugent participates in many community, civic, and professional activities. He currently serves as a Director of both American Equity Investment Life Insurance Company and Iowa State Bank, and serves as Chair of the St. Anthony Parish Foundation.

Neugent will officially begin his term as Chair at the Partnership’s Annual Dinner on Jan. 27.
