MEDIA ALERT: 2015 World Food & Music Festival Returns One Week From Today, Sept. 18-20!

The 11th Annual World Food & Music Festival will return to Downtown Des Moines Sept. 18 - 20, 2015 on the Walnut Street Bridge. Hours are: Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.  The World Food & Music Festival is Central Iowa’s premier celebration of culinary culture featuring 53 diverse food vendors, 24 cooking demonstrations, live music, entertainment, international beer and wine and fireworks on Saturday night. Admission is free. Festival attendees are invited to taste samples for $1 at every food vendor or experience the full-plate options for $5 or less. Menus for each vendor, a full list of beverages and complete programming and event schedules can be found at WorldFoodandMusicFestival.org.

People’s Choice Contest
Festival attendees are invited to vote for their favorite food vendor in the World Food & Music Festival People’s Choice Contest, sponsored by MORE104. Voting opens Friday Sept. 18 at 11 a.m. and the winner will be announced Sunday Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. Vote by texting “WFMF” and the vendor code (located on the map or the sign on their tent) to the number 77000. One vote per person, per day. Standard text messaging and data rates apply.

Volunteer Opportunities Still Available
The World Food & Music Festival is still in need of community volunteers for a variety of shifts and duties ranging from assisting during cooking demonstrations to event set up and tear down.
