Jack Schroeder to Present at Top Five for Small Business Series on Feb. 28

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (Feb. 23, 2018) — The Greater Des Moines Partnership has announced that Jack Schroeder, Vice President of IT at Aureon, will be the next presenter in the Top Five for Small Business series. Schroeder will present on the “Top Five Things to Know About Securing Your Data.” The Top Five series features presentations to inform, educate and inspire business owners in Greater Des Moines (DSM). The events focus on a variety of timely topics that affect business owners and managers including legal, human resources, information technology, marketing, accounting and other pressing issues.

The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at the Greater Des Moines Partnership, 700 Locust St., Ste. 100. Schroeder’s presentation will begin at Noon.

Businesses continue to seek new ways to protect their data and mitigate cybersecurity risk. However, ensuring an organization is secure can be overwhelming and create obstacles for a productive workforce. Schroeder will present on five key areas of focus to help a business enhance its cybersecurity posture. Key takeaways will include:

  • Strategies to reduce data breach risk and improve business continuity.
  • Securing a business's network and users.
  • Creating an internal culture of security awareness.
  • Trends in cyber threats, ransomware, spoofing and phishing attacks (among others).

Schroeder is responsible for the strategic, operational and financial performance for Aureon IT. Schroeder has extensive experience in computers and system integration, as well as development and implementation of comprehensive strategic technology initiatives.
