Inclusion Award Applications And Nominations Are Now Open

September 10, 2015

The Greater Des Moines Partnership's Inclusion Council is now accepting nominations for the Partnership’s 2016 Inclusion Award. Formerly the Diversity Award, the process is now in its 16th year. The Inclusion Award recognizes businesses and organizations throughout the region that have taken significant steps to advance the diversity and inclusion efforts in their organization. It also recognizes businesses that strive to create opportunity and embrace an inclusive workplace culture.

Individuals are encouraged to use the brief online form to nominate organizations that they feel are doing great work in the area of diversity and inclusion as it pertains to the workplace and the Greater Des Moines region. Organizations can also submit an application to the Partnership’s Inclusion Council on their own behalf. Both the Award Nomination form and Award Application form can be filled out online, and are due on Oct. 31, 2015.

The Inclusion Award will be awarded in two categories: small/medium-sized organizations and large-sized organizations. To be considered for the award, a business must be a regional member (via an Affiliate Chamber of Commerce) or an investor of the Partnership. Applicants are assessed on organizational diversity and inclusion initiatives and objectives, including but not limited to: employee demographics, recruitment, retention, supplier diversity and community involvement. Applications are evaluated and finalists are visited by a panel of judges before a decision to name the awardee(s). Winners will be announced during the Partnership’s Annual Dinner in January 2016.
