Global Insurance Symposium Announces Co-Chairs for 2017 Event
The Global Insurance Symposium — the world’s premier symposium for industry experts — has announced its co-chairs for the 2017 event. Laura Beebe, CFA, Director, Investment Administration at Farm Bureau Financial Services, and Kay Fairchild Godfredsen, Esq., Managing Counsel at Nationwide, will co-chair the fourth annual event.
Beebe has held multiple positions at Farm Bureau Financial Services since 1988. She has been heavily involved in the CFA Society of Iowa, having served as President in addition to a number of other positions. She is on the Investment Committee for the American Council of Life Insurers. She is a graduate of Iowa State University and obtained her master of business administration degree at the University of Iowa.
Godfredsen has been with Nationwide for 13 years. Godfredsen currently serves as the Chairperson of the Iowa Insurance and Financial Services Education Foundation, in addition to serving other professional organizations. She is a graduate of the University of South Dakota and received her J.D. from Drake Law School.

The fourth annual Global Insurance Symposium will take place from Tuesday, April 25 through Thursday, April 27 in Downtown Des Moines. It is presented by the Iowa Insurance Institute, Federation of Iowa Insurers, Iowa Insurance Division, Greater Des Moines Partnership, Iowa Economic Development Authority and Insurance Thought Leadership. The symposium features a powerhouse agenda of renowned industry keynote and panel speakers, as well as numerous opportunities for attendees to participate in discussions with global insurance leaders during the program and network in interactive settings. Speakers include state insurance commissioners, industry leaders, regulatory representatives from throughout the country and the world, and other experts in the insurance industry, technology and startup industries from around the world.
