Celebrate the New Year at GuideOne ImaginEve!
GuideOne Insurance, along with the Downtown Community Alliance invites families to ring in the New Year at Greater Des Moines' (DSM’s) biggest New Year's Eve party for kids — GuideOne ImaginEve! on Wednesday, Dec. 31 from 4-8 p.m. at Hy-Vee Hall, 730 Third Street, in Downtown DSM. Kids and families will enjoy a countdown to the New Year with a Times Square-like confetti drop at 8 p.m. The evening will wrap up with a spectacular fireworks show from the top of the Seventh Street Park & Ride at 8:15 p.m.
“While this event has evolved and changed to become what it is today in its 15th year, its original purpose still rings true,” says Beth Johnson, Downtown Events Team Leader & Production Manager for the Downtown Community Alliance. “GuideOne ImaginEve! is a New Year’s Eve celebration for kids and families.”
This free family-fun event features inflatable slides, obstacle courses and bounce houses, carnival games with prizes, superheroes and princesses, face-painting, balloons, a Toddler Zone, live entertainment and prize drawings from GuideOne. For kids ages 10 and up, GuideOne ImaginEve! offers a Tween Zone with the Iowa Wild's Slapshot hockey, Log Slammer, Game On Iowa Mobile Gaming Theatre, Laser Tag, and new this year, a rock climbing wall!

This one-of-a-kind event encourages family members of all ages to enjoy New Year's Eve in a safe, responsible way and participate in a wide variety of activities. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Free parking is available at the Seventh and Center Street parking ramp and at Community Choice Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium parking lot.
