Capital Crossroads Names Nikki Syverson As Director

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (Sept. 5, 2017) — Nikki Syverson has been selected as the new Director of Capital Crossroads. In this role, Syverson will represent the Capital Crossroads Tri-Chairs and guide implementation of the regional vision plan, working closely with community, business leaders and volunteers.

“Nikki has the ideal blend of volunteer management, fundraising, event management and PR experience,” said President of the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines and Capital Crossroads Tri-Chair Kristi Knous.

“Nikki is a known entity in our region,” said Polk County Board of Supervisor and Capital Crossroads Tri-Chair Angela Connolly. “She has a proven track record and will undoubtedly help push our region forward through servant leadership.”

“When we think about our regional vision plan and what we need to do to maximize momentum in our region, Nikki in many ways exemplifies what we are collectively working to build for the future,” said Greater Des Moines Partnership CEO and Tri-Chair Jay Byers. “Nikki has already established herself as a regional leader in multiple capacities and is highly committed to the longterm success of DSM USA.”

Syverson has more than 13 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and management. She currently serves as Director of Advancement at the Des Moines Community Playhouse and has served as Wine Festival Foundation Director and Des Moines Symphony Director of Donor Relations and Events. She has also served on numerous boards and committees throughout the region, including the Drake University National Alumni Board, Drake Central Iowa Regional Alumni Board and ChildServe.

“More than 700 volunteers are working to activate the regional vision plan and I’m excited to work alongside them and the business community to continue pushing our region forward,” said Nikki Syverson, newly named Capital Crossroads Director.

In 2012, Syverson was a Juice YP of the Year finalist and one of the Des Moines Business Record’s Forty Under 40. She is a Drake University alumna and lives in Clive with her husband, Jay, and children, Quinn (7) and Charlie (4).

Syverson begins her role as Capital Crossroads Director Sept. 25.
