Applications Open for 2016 Wonder of Words Festival

Applications are now open to participate in the 2016 Wonder of Words Festival. The Wonder of Words Festival is an exciting celebration of the written word. The outdoor event features presentations and signings by authors of both national and local acclaim, as well as workshops, conversation panels, literary exhibitors, book sales, children’s entertainment activities and food vendors. The Festival is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Western Gateway Park in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). Applications must be submitted by Friday, Feb. 19.

Applications are open for the following:

  • Authors who would like to present on a Festival stage or panel.
  • Authors who would like to promote and sell their book at a table.  
  • Book sellers, publishers, book clubs or nonprofit organizations that would like vendor space at the Festival.
  • Businesses that would like commercial marketing space at the Festival.
  • Food trucks that would like to have a spot at the Festival.
