Register for This Summer’s DSM Intern Connection Event Series

The DSM Intern Connection summer series begins Tuesday, June 3, 2025 with a kickoff event at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden’s Dupont Room in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). The series will feature opportunities for interns and college-aged students to connect with community leaders and executives, as well as opportunities to network with their peers. The interactive sessions are an opportunity for the students to explore the unique offerings of DSM and gain insight into the resources and networks they need to build a career in Greater Des Moines (DSM).

DSM Intern Connections event locations are held throughout DSM. In the past, interns have been to The Shop, Farm Bureau Financial Services, Principal Park and Mainframe Studios, while this year, along with the Botanical Garden, interns will have the opportunity to visit Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, the Principal Financial Group Auditorium and EMC Insurance Companies, all of which are in Downtown DSM.

 

Last year there were 349 participants, representing 108 employers, 84 colleges and universities and 22 states (and three-quarters of them said they would be likely to accept a job with their employer after graduation here in DSM!).

2025 DSM Intern Connection Event Calendar

Each 2025 DSM Intern Connection event will take place from 5 – 7 p.m. and are free for students to attend. Register at the links below for each of this summer’s sessions:

• Tuesday, June 17, 2025: Habits of Top Performers: Setting Yourself Up for Success Now with keynote speaker Allen Weaver | REGISTER
• Tuesday, July 1, 2025: Murky Waters: Navigating Conflict, Tension and Apologies at Work with keynote speaker Kristin Economos | REGISTER
• Tuesday, July 15, 2025: Wired for Resilience with keynote speaker Vanessa McNeal | REGISTER
• Tuesday, July 29, 2025: Executive Luncheon – Invite Only *In order to attend, participants must have attended 3 of 4 previous DSM Intern Connection events.
