Sports are always in season in Downtown Des Moines (DSM), where you can cheer on hometown teams, attend major events and take part in races and competitions throughout the year.

Downtown DSM also hosts statewide and regional tournaments and competitions in sports like basketball, wrestling, cheerleading and volleyball, bringing teams and fans together from across the state. 

The YMCA of Greater Des Moines provides additional opportunities for recreation and competition including youth sports, fitness programs and access to the MidAmerican Energy Aquatic Center, an Olympic-size pool that hosts regional and national swim events.
