Every Saturday from May through October, the Downtown Farmers’ Market spans nine city blocks in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). On each Saturday of The Market an estimated 25,000 people visit vendor booths where they can purchase local products such as produce, baked goods, jam, soap, crafts, meat, eggs, ready-to-eat food and more.

A beloved local institution since 1975 , today The Market supports 250+ local entrepreneurs, including farmers, producers, bakers and artists that represent 50 counties across the state of Iowa. Since the inception of The Market’s Saturday Salute program, which welcomes nonprofit vendors to promote events, resources and organizations, and the Market Extras program, which allows for-profit businesses and corporations to bring awareness to their businesses, visibility for these organizations and awareness for important causes continues to grow. The Market continues to create inclusive opportunities for the DSM business community during The Market season.
