Drive-Through Winter Farmers' and Makers' Market Provides Opportunity to 'Gift' Local
GREATER DES MOINES, IA (Nov. 9, 2020) – The Downtown Farmers’ Market presented by UnityPoint Health – Des Moines will host a Drive-Through Winter Farmers’ and Makers’ Market in just two weeks on Saturday, Nov. 21. from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Principal Park parking lot located at 1 Line Drive in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). Patrons can look forward to shopping an assortment of late-season produce, meat, cheese, wine, artisan foods, pies, pastries, bread, honey, jam, salsa, artisan gift items and more.
A total of 40 different local vendors will be set up along the perimeter of the parking lot at Principal Park. Customers can either pre-order items online and attend The Drive-Through Winter Market to pick them up, or may shop in-person from their vehicles. This alternative market layout will allow customers to connect and purchase from many of the vendors who would typically be at the indoor Winter Market. Patrons can also shop the online marketplace that includes vendors that will not be at the physical market and coordinate pick-up logistics with them directly.

The Drive-Through Winter Farmers’ and Makers’ Market will create a safe environment for consumers and local vendors to engage with one another just in time for the holiday season. The Drive-Through Winter Market takes place just one week before Small Business Saturday, a national effort to support small businesses.
