Downtown Farmers' Market Announces Vendors, Market Extras Program, Meals From the Market and More for 2022 Season

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (April 20, 2022) – The Downtown Farmers’ Market presented by UnityPoint Health – Des Moines has announced its participating vendors for the 2022 season. The weekly event will bring 240+ local vendors to the streets of Downtown Des Moines (DSM)’s Historic Court District throughout The Market season. “Our vendors are the heart of the Downtown Farmers’ Market who help produce a nationally recognized event each Saturday throughout the season,” said Tiffany Tauscheck, Chief Operations Officer at the Greater Des Moines Partnership and President of Downtown DSM, Inc. “We are excited to continue to support our local farmers, businesses and nonprofits, and give our patrons and community members a chance to support local in their community.”

Corporations and businesses can participate and support The Market as a Market Extra Partner. As a Market Extra, businesses receive a privileged presence at The Market with onsite visibility and signage, including direct access onsite and inclusion within Market promotions. Meals From the Market, sponsored by First Interstate Bank, is a program created to accept fresh food donations from Market patrons, vendors and the entire community to help feed the hungry in the local community. The program provides thousands of pounds of fresh food to Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) emergency pantries where it is distributed throughout DSM. Home gardeners and bakers are encouraged to donate fresh produce and baked goods; non-perishable food is also accepted. Learn more about the Meals From the Market program here.

The Downtown Farmers’ Market takes place every Saturday morning from May through October. Hours are 7 a.m. – Noon, with a later start time during October when hours are 8 a.m. – Noon. The Market spans nine city blocks in Downtown Des Moines (DSM) in the Historic Court District: On Court Avenue from Water Street to Fifth Avenue and extending north and south on Second Avenue, Third Street and Fourth Street.
