Out to Lunch Food and Music Series Returns to Downtown Des Moines (DSM) in July
DOWNTOWN DES MOINES, IOWA (June 9, 2021) – Out to Lunch will return to Downtown Des Moines (DSM) this summer starting Thursday, July 1. Out to Lunch is a series of mid-day summer events that pop-up in various Downtown DSM locations. Out to Lunch will feature multiple local food vendors along with live music from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. throughout the month of July.
Out to Lunch is a free event that is open to the public, designed with the goal of creating a unique and fun opportunity for Downtown DSM employees and residents to socialize with others in a vibrant, outdoor Downtown DSM setting with food and live music.
This activation is part of The Partnership’s Glad You’re Here | Love Downtown DSM series to encourage residents to explore Downtown DSM as more people begin to participate in Downtown activities and return to the office this summer.
The 2021 Out to Lunch location and entertainment schedule is as follows:

- Thursday, July 8 – Federal Home Loan Bank parking lot, off Grand Avenue between Ninth and 10th Street
- Entertainment: Ryne Doughty
- Thursday, July 15 – High Street between Seventh and Eighth Street
- Entertainment: Sara Routh
- Thursday, July 22 – People’s Plaza at the Iowa State Capitol Complex
- Thursday, July 29 – 15th Street between Grand Avenue and Locust Street
- Entertainment: Chris Falcon
“Out to Lunch is a great opportunity for Downtown employees to get outside, enjoy the warm summer weather, support local businesses and rediscover the vibrancy of Downtown DSM,” said Tiffany Tauscheck, Chief Operations Officer at the Greater Des Moines Partnership. “As more and more people return to Downtown offices this summer, this is one way of saying ‘We’re glad you’re here!’”
Participating food vendors will be released at a later date. Vendor applications are currently open for the 2021 Out to Lunch series. To submit interest, please submit an application by end of day Friday, June 11.
