Greater Des Moines Partnership Hosts Downtown DSM Workforce Day At The Ballpark
GREATER DES MOINES, IA (July 20, 2023) – The Greater Des Moines Partnership will host Downtown DSM Workforce Day at the Ballpark on Wednesday, Sept. 13. This event aims to celebrate Downtown Des Moines (DSM) employees, providing them with an opportunity to enjoy an exciting afternoon at Principal Park while connecting with their teammates and supporting local businesses. The event will be sponsored by MidAmerican Energy Company, Principal Financial Group, Prairie Meadows and Bravo Greater Des Moines.
The highlight of the day will be the Iowa Cubs baseball game, with the first pitch scheduled for 12:08 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the event by going to local establishments before and after the game. Employers who sign up early will have the unique opportunity for their employees to participate in various activities throughout the game, including throwing out the first pitch, shooting the hot dog gun or t-shirt fun gun, running in the B-Bops burger race, singing the seventh inning stretch and more.
"Downtown DSM Workforce Day at the Ballpark is a fantastic opportunity for Downtown employees to come together, enjoy a fun-filled day at Principal Park and take part in the vibrant community we are a part of,” said Megan Renkel, Downtown Farmers' Market Manager and lead organizer of Downtown DSM Workforce Day at the Ballpark. “This is a chance to connect with teammates outside of the office and support the local businesses that make Downtown DSM unique."
This is the second year for Downtown DSM Workforce Day at the Ballpark, which kicked off in September of 2022. The event was inspired by Dan Houston, Chairman, President & CEO of Principal, who envisioned a day of celebration for those who work in Downtown DSM.
