January 13, 2023

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (Jan. 13, 2023) – New York Times bestselling author Chris Bohjalian, author of “The Flight Attendant,” will be one of the headlining authors at the 2023 DSM Book Festival. The Festival will take place on Saturday, March 25 at Capital Square in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). The DSM Book Festival connects people who love books with people who create them.

Bohjalian is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of 24 books. His work has been translated into 35 languages and become three movies and an Emmy-nominated TV series. His 2018 novel, “The Flight Attendant,” debuted as a New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Publishers Weekly, and National Indiebound Bestseller. It is now an HBO Max TV series, starring Kaley Cuoco. Season two landed in April 2022. “The Flight Attendant” is a powerful story about the ways an entire life can change in one night: A flight attendant wakes up in unusual circumstances with no idea what happened. Set amid the captivating world of those whose lives unfold at forty thousand feet, “The Flight Attendant” unveils a spellbinding story.

“We are excited to welcome Chris Bohjalian to the DSM Book Festival, as we know many readers will be familiar with his work including “The Flight Attendant,” which has received significant national acclaim,” said Amelia Klatt, Director of Events at the Greater Des Moines Partnership.

In addition to acclaimed authors, the DSM Book Festival will feature book club-style discussions led by featured commentators, hands-on activities, children’s programming, food, drink, live music and more. More programing and headlining authors will be announced leading up to the event.

“We are excited to sponsor the DSM Book Festival as a signature community event that adds vibrancy to Downtown Des Moines,” said Julie Stewart, Vice President of Community Relations at Prairie Meadows. “This year’s Festival promises to be another strong chapter of this event with renowned speakers and programming for all ages.”
