Des Moines Downtown Farmers' Market Announces 2021 Fall Market Hours
DOWNTOWN DES MOINES, IOWA (Sept. 29, 2021) — The Downtown Farmers’ Market presented by UnityPoint Health – Des Moines will begin its October hours of 8 a.m. – Noon this Saturday, instead of its usual 7 a.m. start. The later start provides more daylight as vendors prepare their stands for the arrival of Market patrons.
“We’re excited to usher in the fall season with our valued visitors and dedicated vendors in the Historic Court District,” said Downtown Farmers’ Market Director Kelly Foss. "The month of October is the perfect time to stock up on all of your autumn-themed artwork, seasonal produce and sweet desserts while listening to local musicians as you shop at The Downtown Farmers’ Market.”
Over the next five Saturdays in October, fall produce will be plentiful and will include sweet potatoes, butternut squash, beets, garlic, apples, and fall-themed baked goods and treats such as caramel apples, apple cider, apple pie, pumpkins, fall mums, unique gourds, flowers and plants — and so much more.
