Event Information
Description
The Sound of Gospel©, presented by 2nd Chance Outreach, is a powerful musical anthology celebrating the enduring legacy of Black sacred music. More than a concert, this staged production is an immersive, soul-stirring journey through the soundscape of African American history and spiritual resilience.
Spanning from early expressions like work songs, ring shouts and Negro spirituals to traditional hymns, quartet harmonies and the dynamic sounds of contemporary and urban gospel, the show traces the evolution of a music born from struggle, hope and faith. Through live performances, dramatic moments and joyful praise, audiences are taken on a historical and cultural tour of the music that has sustained generations.
This event is crafted to honor Black History Month, shining a light on the artistry, spirituality and storytelling at the heart of gospel music. The Sound of Gospel© is more than entertainment — it’s a tribute to the voices that have carried a people, inspired movements and transformed hearts.
Whether you are deeply rooted in gospel tradition or discovering its beauty for the first time, this production welcomes all to experience the power of song to uplift, unify and celebrate the human spirit.
Come join us. Celebrate the rhythm. Witness the story. Feel the sound.
