Grand View University and is free and open to the public.
Six renowned published poets from Iowa, Colorado and Kansas will perform their celebrated works
that focus on Poetry of Place (regional-topics) and Echoes of Earth (ecology-focused) themes.
The featured poet lineup includes:
- Deb Marquart, Iowa Poet Laureate, Iowa State University professor, author of seven books
- Camille Dungy, African-American ecology poet and professor at Colorado State University
- Traci Brimhall, Kansas Poet Laureate and creative writing professor at Kansas State
University
- Jennifer Knox, ISU teacher whose works are featured in Best American Poetry and The New
York Times and American Poetry Review
- Paul Brooke, Grand View University Endowed Chair of Creative Writing who teaches
environmental literature, poetry and diverse voices
- Caleb “The Negro Artist” Rainey, nationally acclaimed, award-winning Iowa poet who
performs spoken verse and conducts poetry workshops
In addition, there will be opportunities for small-group, poet-led creative writing workshops and
