Join Jim Pease Tuesday, Feb. 13, 6:45 p.m. at The Des Moines Izaak Walton League, 4343 George Flagg Pkwy, Des Moines 50321, for a talk about his essay "Survival Struggles, Survival Hopes: Wildlife in Iowa" in Cornelia Mutel's new book "Tending Iowa's Land". Beaverdale Books will be on hand with copies of the book for sale and signing! Jim is an ISU Associate Professor Emeritus and is a prominent teacher and conservationist who helped design and conduct the Master River Stewards Program for Iowa Rivers Revival and has paddled some 1800 miles of Iowa rivers, conducting biological and interpretive surveys for the Iowa Water Trails program. Jim's experience includes teaching interpretation to undergraduate and graduate students for 24 years, research on the impact of interpretive and education strategies, over two decades as an Extension Wildlife Specialist, Director of Iowa’s NatureMapping and Master Conservationist programs, and 15 years in youth development and natural resources. Admission to Jim's talk is FREE and open to the public, with dinner available for purchase and doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
