Event Information
Description: In the 15th century Spain, more than fifteen hundred years of Jewish life came to a screeching halt when given the ultimatum by Queen Isabella: conversion or expulsion. Of the half who converted, they were known as the Conversos who practiced Judaism secretly which has survived through present day. This film tells their story, with beautiful views of Spain, Portugal, Israel, and more.
"Through extensive interviews with the children of secret believers, the film captures the modern resurrection of something ethereal: the ghost of a people." - The National Center for Jewish Film
