HONOR those who have given the gift of life REGISTER TODAY 2019 GREEN 5K RUN & WALK FOR ORGAN, EYE AND TISSUE DONATION AWARENESS! My Angel Foundation and Iowa Donor Network are teaming up once again to host the 12th annual GREEN 5K Fun Run and Walk on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Raccoon River Park in West Des Moines. The course will be on the scenic path around Blue Heron Lake. JOIN US to honor the lives of organ and tissue donors, celebrate the lives of recipients, and recognize those who continue to wait for a life-saving transplant. This is a fun, family-friendly event with the goal to raise awareness about organ, eye and tissue donation. How far is a 5K? A. 3.1 miles or about 6,250 steps. Q. Are costumes welcome? A. Absolutely! Help us promote organ, eye and tissue donation during the event by wearing your favorite shades of green. Green shorts, green shoes, green hats, green body paint, green accessories you name it - if it's green, wear it! Q. What will be included in my race packet? A. Your packet will have your running bib (registered runners) and safety pins. You'll also pick up your hat. Q. Can I run with my 4 legged friend? A. We were unable to get insurance to cover animals on course and therefore cannot allow dogs or any other animals to run with you. Sorry! Q. Can I run with a stroller/headphones/dog on a leash? A. Yes/Yes/No Q. Is there an age limit on how young or old a competitor can be? A. No. But, please check with your doctor first. Q. Do children under 5 years old receive a beanie? A. Children ages 5 and under are FREE, therefore, will NOT receive a free hat. Q. Are there refunds? A. Unfortunately, we are not able to issue refunds for this event. Q. Can a registration be transferred to another name? A. If your name changes- sure. Otherwise- no, sorry. Q. Can I pick up someone else's packet? A. If you wish to pick up someone's packet other than your own you must bring their confirmation email and a note from them stating you have permission to pick up their packet. Q. When and where is packet pick-up? Friday, April 19th at Iowa Donor Network, 320 Adventureland Dr, Altoona from 12PM - 6PM Q. I still have questions after reading this- who can I contact? A.
