The Grand Blue Mile, presented by Wellmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield, inspires healthy habits and celebrates personal achievement. Since 2010, over 50,000 participants from 47 states, six countries and four continents have joined in this annual one-mile street run in Downtown Des Moines. Designed for all ages and abilities, the event offers something for everyone — from competitive runners and elite athletes to recreational participants and families.

The Grand Blue Mile, presented by Wellmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield, is more than a race; it's a vibrant celebration of wellness and community, with cheering crowds, live entertainment and a festive atmosphere.
