Description
Embrace the Race 5k promotes health equity, spreads cultural awareness and unites the community together. This is an inclusive movement race where everyone is welcome and will offer an opportunity to provide people of all abilities, socio-economic backgrounds and cultures to move in unity together. Children 6 and under FREE, please register children 7 and up!
Embrace the Race 5k is not your average race — there will be no times gathered to ensure we capture the focus of the event and allow for those who may otherwise avoid participating to join. Gray's Lake offers accessible parking and trails to allow individuals and families with strollers, wheelchairs, skateboards, bikes and other modalities to join!
ETR5k will offer opportunities to highlight organizations that are committed to inclusion, health equity, and unity and allow others to reflect on their own race, journey in life as well as bring awareness to the struggles others may go through as they move through life based on their abilities, race, culture, background, etc.
Race Packet Pick Up
- When: Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 3 - 6 p.m.
- Where: Fleet Feet DSM 521 E. Locust St.
Each participant registered by end of day Sunday, June 1, 2025 will receive a race packet that will include a t-shirt, book (age appropriate) highlighting a diverse author or topic and support locally owned book stores, educational items to help spread cultural awareness, inclusive race bib and other materials from our committed sponsors! Registration after June 1 will not be guaranteed a t-shirt and/ or book.
To culminate the event, there will be a 'judgement free dance party' and DJ showcasing the Embrace the Race 5k Spotify Playlist with socially conscious and uplifting music as a positive reminder to 'dance like no one is watching', living and moving freely in unity!
This race will look, feel and be remembered differently and the connections made while here will be long lasting, leading to courageous conversations, friendships and impactful change!
