Event Information

Description

Joseph Giunta's 30th Anniversary Season begins with the music that launched his career at the Des Moines Symphony - Mahler's virtuosic "Titan" Symphony. Inon Barnatan, called "one of the most admired pianists of his generation" by the New York Times, makes his Des Moines debut playing Beethoven's iconic "Emperor" Concerto. But first, the Symphony's 81st Season, 'Giunta Celebrates Bernstein,' opens with one of Leonard Bernstein's most beloved works - the witty, effervescent Candide Overture.
