Geneva Lewis makes her Des Moines debut playing Brahm’s virtuosic and emotionally profound Violin Concerto. Still’s Serenade, with lush harmonies that weave American jazz and blues with classical traditions, opens the concert. The Orchestra shines during Sibelius’ Symphony No. 5.
