Description

Ballet Des Moines' annual statewide tour shares inspiring artistry alongside interactive science activities. This year the ballet company will perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Tom Mattingly's new work Love Letters, following an afternoon of interactive STEM and arts activities. Come experience the whimsy of storytelling, the wonder of night and the magic of our community. Community STEM programming explores the sounds and habits of nocturnal animals, constellation maps, moon cycles and the science of sleep and dreaming.

Lawn seating is free and open to the public.

Schedule

• 5 - 6:30 p.m. STEM + Arts Community Activities
• 6:30 - 7:45 p.m. Ballet Des Moines Performance
• 7:45 - 8:30 p.m. Stargazing and Constellation Activity

Looking to plus up your night? Purchase a VIP package and secure exclusive front-row seats at the Lauridsen Amphitheatre. The performance will feature excerpts from A Midsummer Night's Dream and Tom Mattingly's Love Letters. VIP guests will sip on a Winefest sparkling wine flight while enjoying a picnic dinner by Tangerine. After the show, VIP ticket holders are invited to join the artists of BDM at an exclusive reception.
