Date: Wednesday, Mar. 14, 2018 1:00 p.m.

Location: State Historical Museum of Iowa, 600 E. Locust Street, 50319

Event Information

Description: Join us for an adventure into Iowa's past as we explore extreme weather and archaeology aboard a battleship with your very own Superman and a mountain climber during Spring Break. Each day brings a new and exciting trip through time with artifacts, superhero crafts and an archaeological adventure. On March 14, drop in anytime 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to learn about archaeology with fun hands-on activities. Help us put together some cracked clay pots and become a history detective by taking notes and trying to decipher our faux-mini digging site. Use your archaeological skills to reconstruct clay pots commonly found during archaeological digs. Participate in a mini-archaeological dig, see what you discover and try to figure out what the object is and the people who once used it.
