Mike Swesey Promoted to Executive Vice President of Economic Development at Greater Des Moines Partnership
GREATER DES MOINES, IA (Feb. 3, 2022) – Mike Swesey has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Economic Development at the Greater Des Moines Partnership. In this role, Swesey will lead The Partnership’s efforts in helping companies relocate to and expand in Greater Des Moines (DSM).
Swesey has worked on The Partnership’s economic development team for more than 20 years and brings extensive economic development experience and deep connections in the community as well as across the state and country to this role. The Partnership will work to build on recent momentum. In 2021, there were more than 62 projects announced, under construction or completed in the DSM region, representing $3.41 billion in total capital investment, 11 million square feet of project space and more than 3,600 new or retained jobs.

Prior to his work at The Partnership, Swesey worked at the Iowa Economic Development Authority and as the Economic Development Director for the City of Norwalk. He served on the Board of the Mid-America Economic Development Council for six years.
