June 10, 2025

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (June 10, 2025) – Angie Stepsis, Chief of Staff, and Kyle Oppenhuizen, Vice President of Public Relations, at the Greater Des Moines Partnership, have graduated from the Institute for Organization Management (IOM), a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and have received the recognition of IOM. Awarded to all graduates of the Institute program, the IOM Graduate Recognition signifies the individual’s completion of 96 credit hours of course instruction in nonprofit management. In addition, participants can earn credit hours towards the Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) or Certified Association Executive (CAE), certifications. Nearly 1,000 individuals attend the Institute annually.

Since its commencement in 1921, the Institute program has been educating tens of thousands of association, chambers and other nonprofit leaders on how to build stronger organizations, better serve their members and become strong business advocates. The Institute’s curriculum consists of four weeklong sessions at four different university locations throughout the country. Through a combination of required courses and electives in areas such as leadership, advocacy, marketing, finance and membership, Institute participants are able to enhance their own organizational management skills and add new fuel to their organizations, making them run more efficiently and effectively.

Stepsis and Oppenhuizen graduated from the Summer Institute in Madison, Wisconsin.

“We are proud of Angie and Kyle for their commitment to professional growth and leadership through the Institute for Organization Management,” said Tiffany Tauscheck, President & CEO at The Partnership. “Earning their IOM designations is a testament to their dedication to serving our organization, Investors, Affiliates and Members which helps create an even greater impact in the region.”

Institute for Organization Management is the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. It is the premier nonprofit professional development program for association and chamber professionals, fostering individual growth through interactive learning and networking opportunities.

“I’m honored to have earned my IOM designation through the Institute for Organization Management,” said Stepsis. “The experience offered valuable tools and fresh perspectives that will help me better serve our Investors and support the ongoing growth of our organization and region.”

“Completing the Institute for Organization Management has been an incredibly rewarding experience,” said Oppenhuizen. “Learning alongside peers from across the country and gaining new perspectives on leadership and communication has been invaluable. I look forward to bringing what I’ve learned back to the organization and continuing to share The Partnership’s story.”
