Company Registration is Now Open for the 2022 Des Moines Corporate Games

December 1, 2021

DES MOINES, Iowa, Dec. 1, 2021 – The seventh annual Des Moines Corporate Games (DMCG) will be held June 1 – July 30, 2022. Companies can now register to secure their spot in this annual event.

Company pride, corporate wellness and team-building are all benefits for companies participating in the Des Moines Corporate Games.

In 2021, 53 companies and over 9,200 employees participated in the Games. Due to the expected growth, a limit of 90 companies has been set for the 2022 competition. This ensures the best experience possible for those participating.

“The Des Moines Corporate Games has experienced exceptional growth over the last six years of competition,” said Chuck Long, CEO and Executive Director of the Iowa Sports Foundation. “The pandemic challenged us to find alternative ways to keep companies active and engaged in a safe manner. Our staff is thrilled to begin our seventh Corporate Games in Des Moines in 2022!”

Employees will have the opportunity to take part in over 25 sports and events during the months of June and July. All events are held in the evenings and on weekends.

Events range from competitive team sports to non-competitive participation activities, including online challenges that can be completed at the participants’ worksites or home. The Des Moines Corporate Games is also community focused with blood donation and meal packing challenges.

Entry fees, paid by the participating company, are based on the number of people employed in the Des Moines area. Employees do not pay to participate in DMCG sports and events.

Participating companies are split into divisions based on general company size. Points are awarded throughout the competition based on sport/event placing, participation and volunteerism. The top companies in each division will receive recognition, with the winning company in each division receiving the coveted Corporate Games Cup during the Iowa State Fair.

“The best part of the games is the teamwork and comradery that staff experience as they participate with coworkers – a value that we no doubt bring back with us to the office and into the field,” said David Kurth with Iowa Soybean Association.

Division winners from 2021 include Corteva Agriscience, Federal Home Loan Bank, R&R Realty Group, McGowen Hurst Clark Smith and Iowa Soybean Association. For more information or to register a company, visit www.dmcorporategames.org.
