30th Annual Golden Circle Games Presented by NCMIC & Mediacom Gets Back to Its Roots

April 17, 2014

The Golden Circle Games is celebrating its 30th anniversary on June 13! The Young Professionals Connection (YPC) and the Greater Des Moines Partnership are excited to invite attendees to celebrate this milestone. The Games will feature teams from all over the Greater Des Moines (DSM) coming together to compete in a variety of traditional and unique games designed to provide fun, safe, team-building opportunities in a softly competitive yet networking atmosphere.

“There are some great new changes to the event this year. We are all really excited to see this long-standing Des Moines tradition get back to its roots of team-building and collaboration through spirited competition,” said Cory Sharp, Golden Circle Games Event Chair.

Over the past 30 years, the Golden Circle Games have brought business people together for a high-energy, team-building competition. The Games first started when four local businesses got together for an afternoon of fun, but competition has grown substantially over the years. Almost 1,000 competitors from over 100 local businesses are expected to turn out for the event this year.

This year the Golden Circle Games, presented by NCMIC & Mediacom, are prompting teams with the ultimate challenge: Define Your Nation. What is it that defines the team — what keeps the group passionate and what do they represent? Form a team with co-workers and earn company bragging rights or round up your friends and let DSM know what a real team can do. Come out and show off your skills as we all work together to collect supplies for the Central Iowa Shelter Services.

The event will take place Friday, June 13 at 1 p.m at the Water Works Park South Shelter Area. Gates will open at Noon and parking will be available entering from the South Shelter entrance on the Big Event Field.

Teams must consist of at least eight members and have at least four women. Registration for an eight-member team is $170. Additional team members cost $20. Spectator tickets will be available at the gate for $20.
