What inspired you to first get involved with your Chamber?

The Johnston Chamber of Commerce offers great connections, friendships and the ability to grow business.

What’s a signature offering of your Chamber?

Johnston is a very community integrated Chamber. We work very closely with our school district, military base, City staff and civic organizations. Our members appreciate having access into those areas that they may not otherwise be able to have. We’re also a Chamber that is big enough to be influential and offer a robust set of benefits, but small enough that our members feel like family, and they are able to build meaningful, long-lasting connections.

What is your Chamber’s biggest accomplishment in the past 12 months?

Our biggest accomplishment in the last 12 months is record breaking attendance at our golf outing and Jammin’ in Johnston vendor fair, as well as modernizing our systems and introducing new, fresh methods of communication and outreach to our members.

Any initiative or project that you are looking forward to in 2018?

We are looking forward to utilizing more video and digital means of communication, as well as delivering excellent educational and informational luncheons and gatherings.

What upcoming events should people watch for?

Johnston Green Days is our biggest event of the year and one of Iowa’s premier summer festivals. People should watch for a new lineup of live music, a delicious array of food trucks and vendors, as well as classic standards like our car show, carnival and parade. This year’s Green Days will be June 14-17 at the Johnston Commons.
