Greater Des Moines COVID-19 Investor Briefing

Partnership Investor Briefing on DSMstrong

April 10, 2020

The Greater Des Moines Partnership held an Investor & Member Briefing on Wednesday, April 8. It was an opportunity to speak on the ability of Iowa and Greater Des Moines (DSM) to step up during the COVID-19 pandemic and take note of the resiliency of our people and businesses.

Short-Term Strategic Plan

By working with our regional leaders, we hope to be able to bring comfort and best practices during this time. While our long-term initiatives are still important, it is crucial that we pivot our strategy to focus on three key short-term issues:

  • What can we do to keep businesses in business?
  • What can we do to keep people working?
  • What can we do to keep our community healthy?

This short-term strategic plan has led to the creation of a COVID-19 Rapid Response Hub on The Partnership’s website. It has also produced daily conversations with local DSM businesses and strong engagement within our community. Chief Strategy Officer Tiffany Tauscheck explains the details of the short-term initiatives listed above. She suggests that if you’re interested in providing content during this time, we urge you to share your stories/resources with us. The Partnership’s PR team is especially looking for content to pitch to media. If you have stories that focus on resilience, strength, optimism and innovation, let us know by contacting Courtney Shaw at cshaw@DSMpartnership.com.

Specific programs that have recently launched as part of The Partnership’s short-term strategic plan include:

The #DSMstrong and #DSMlocalchallenge initiatives both launched because of a Business Impact Survey taken March 16-24, 2020. The survey questioned regional businesses about how COVID-19 was impacting them at that moment. Already, these businesses were seeing changes happen, creating a need for The Partnership to step up and create content to assist them during this time.

The Partnership also answered questions during the webinar concerning recovery legislation and more. Watch the entire webinar below:
