What Inspired You to First Get Involved with Your Chamber?

As a long-time team member of the YMCA of Greater Des Moines, strengthening the foundations of our community is my passion. When I first began attending events with the Clive Chamber of Commerce back in 2009, I was immediately struck by the sense community not only within the Chamber, but also through the partnerships between the City of Clive and other community organizations.  

What’s a Signature Offering of Your Chamber?

The Clive Chamber of Commerce is continuingly working to create opportunities for our business community to interact and collaborate with one another. As a smaller landlocked community surrounded by large growing communities we say “we are small but mighty.” We strive to make sure our members never feel like a number as they build meaningful business relationships and personal friendships. With involvement in the community and connections to Clive leaders, the word about their business will spread further faster.

What is Your Chamber’s Biggest Accomplishment in the Past 12 Months?  

In the fall of 2018, our Board of Directors committed to creating a 5-year strategic plan for the Chamber. By the end of the year, the Chamber had implemented a new mission, vision and values, along with seven strategic goals.

What Are Your Upcoming Events?    

Ladies Night Bingo and Designer Handbag Fundraiser will be held Wednesday, September 25. This will be the second year for the event. This is not your Grandma’s bingo night!  Expect to see wonderful prizes for each round of bingo and also a raffle for beautiful, authentic designer handbags. Funds raised will be used to create a college scholarship for a high school graduate in the West Des Moines and Waukee School Districts and the Clive Chamber’s high school intern program.
