Drake Relays
Wednesday, April 23 – Saturday, April 26, 2025 | Drake Stadium, Des Moines
Whether you’re a die-hard track and field fan or just love a good adrenaline rush, the Drake Relays (pictured at the top of the page, courtesy of Drake Athletics) are the place to be. Known as one of the most prestigious meets in the country, this four-day event brings elite athletes, high school standouts and college stars together on the iconic Blue Oval at Drake University. It’s fast, it’s fun, it’s full of jaw-dropping moments — and it’s basically the Olympics of Des Moines. Pro tip: Wear comfy shoes, bring your loudest cheering voice and soak in the energy of this century-old sporting tradition.

This isn’t your average farmer’s market — it’s a full-on spring vibe fest. The Market on Hubbell is bringing together over 30 local vendors for a day of boutique-style shopping, live music, sweet treats and coffee sipping while you browse. Expect everything from handmade jewelry and art to vintage finds, candles and comfy tees. You’ll find vendors both inside and out, under white tents that make it easy to shop, stroll and snack your way through the day. Throw it back to the sweet tradition of May Day baskets with this fun, feel-good drop-in event at the Newton Public Library. You can decorate your own mini May Day basket and fill it with little goodies to surprise your favorite humans.
