What Inspired You to First Get Involved with Your Chamber?

I first became a member of the Pleasant Hill Chamber of Commerce several years ago. My inspiration came from my grandparents, who owned a business in our hometown. They were strong believers in supporting the Chamber of Commerce and the value it brings to local businesses and the community. Following their example, I knew I wanted to be part of that same tradition of connection and support.

We have 153 members and continue to grow, always focused on adding value through connections, resources and opportunities.

What is a Signature Offering/Exciting Upcoming Event of Your Chamber?

One of our most exciting upcoming events is Trick or Treat Around the Lake on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025 from 5–7 p.m. at Copper Creek Lake Park. Businesses will be lined up along the trail handing out candy and fun promotional items. It’s one of our largest community events, and it’s always so much fun to see all the costumes while families and businesses connect!

What Partnership Tools/Resources Have Been Most Beneficial to Your Chamber Members?

The Regional Summit has been a great resource for our members, bringing together businesses from across The Partnership’s footprint to learn more about what’s happening in our region and how it impacts their companies. Their networking events have also been incredibly beneficial, giving members the chance to connect with others in a fun, casual environment.

What Events or Benefits Should Members Take Advantage of in the Next Couple of Months?

Trick or Treat Around the Lake is a fantastic opportunity for members to promote their brand while connecting with the community. We also have several networking events coming up before the end of the year — great chances to build relationships and grow your business.

How Can a Member Get More Involved in the Chamber?

Members can get more involved in so many ways — by volunteering at events like Chill on the Hill, joining one of our committees or even serving on our Board of Directors. Each option is a great way to make connections, share ideas and help shape the future of our Chamber.

What Kind of Businesses Join the Chamber?

Our Chamber is made up of a wide variety of members — from solopreneurs to larger corporations. We’re also proud to have several community organizations involved, making our membership a diverse and well-rounded group.

What is One Piece of Advice for a New Business?

Build relationships early and often. Networking with other businesses, community leaders and potential customers is one of the best ways to grow your visibility and credibility. A great first step is joining your local Chamber of Commerce — it opens doors to connections, resources and opportunities you might not find on your own. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, seek out mentors and get involved — you’ll be surprised how many people want to see you succeed.
