October Produce Pick at the DTFM

Can you believe we are already in the last month of the Downtown Farmers’ Market season? Take advantage of all the fall produce you will find and don’t forget that during the month of October our hours are 8 a.m. to Noon.

Pumpkins & Gourds

Get all the pumpkins you need for decorating or for making pies at The Market. Prices range between $2 and $6 depending on the size. You can also find many varieties of squash and decorative gourds for sale. Look for your pumpkins at Crooked Creek, Patrick Cory Farm and Busy Bee Garden Center, just to name a few.

Spring Greens?

Many of the greens you saw at The Market in the spring are now back in season. Find spinach, lettuce and kale from Nomad Farm and Gardens, Grade A Gardens, Mao’s Garden and Rinehart’s Family Farm. Prices range from $1-5 depending on what kind of greens you are buying and the quantity.

You will also find garlic this month at The Market and you can store it for up to a few months depending on the variety. Make sure and ask the vendors how long their garlic will keep. Pickle Creek Herbs, Grade A Gardens and Mao’s Garden all have garlic for sale from between $0.75 per bulb up to $6.50 for a bag.
