Sharp Named President-Elect Of 2015 YPC Board

Cory W. Sharp, Associate AIA, has been named the President-Elect of the 2015 Executive Board for the Greater Des Moines Young Professionals Connection (YPC). 2015 will be the start of a three-year term that includes a term as President in 2016 and President-Officio in 2017.

Sharp, a 2012 graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Architecture and a Minor in Entrepreneurial studies is an Intern Architect at FEH Associates Inc. in Des Moines and has been involved in YPC for 5 years.

“Being elected President-Elect of the YPC Board is an incredible honor. I’m extremely excited to get started and help guide and lead our YP community,” said Sharp.

YPC's mission is to promote an environment that attracts and retains young professionals in Greater Des Moines (DSM). Our efforts focus on connecting young professionals to each other and to the community through social, civic, charitable and professional development endeavors.

We are a focused extension of the Greater Des Moines Partnership, a community and economic development organization serving Central Iowa. The Partnership strives to create a unified region that provides not only a healthy business climate, but also a high quality of life. The Partnership, along with some like-minded young professionals, formed the Young Professionals Connection in 2000.

Today, we are a dynamic network of leaders shaping Des Moines into a fun place to live, work and play. We engage hundreds of members in YPC committees and events, Greater Des Moines Partnership activities and community involvement.

ABOUT FEH

FEH provides architectural, structural engineering, planning and interior design services for public and private use projects in the five-state region with a staff of 40 operating at offices in Sioux City, Des Moines, Dubuque (IA) and Delafield (WI). FEH’s design services include government and civic buildings, libraries, educational facilities, museums, commercial/industrial and churches.
