Greater Des Moines Partnership Honored With U.S. Department Of Commerce Certificate Of Appreciation Award

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (June 2, 2023) – The Greater Des Moines Partnership has received a Certificate of Appreciation Award from the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce. 

The Certificate of Appreciation Award was launched by the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce in 2002 to recognize non-exporters for their achievements in promoting U.S. exports. The Certificate of Appreciation for Export Promotion is issued to individuals and organizations/associations that have supported U.S. export development and created opportunities for U.S. businesses through trade. 

The Partnership was presented with the award during a recent meeting of its Global DSM International Council. Kendee Yamaguchi, Deputy Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Field at the International Trade Administration, attended and presented the award. The Partnership has hosted representatives from the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Qatar in recent years. 

“The Partnership is honored to receive this award from the U.S. Department of Commerce,” said Mike Swesey, Executive Vice President of Economic Development at The Partnership. “This award recognizes that DSM USA is a global region with companies that do business around the world and attract employees from an international talent pool.”
