Greg Edwards Honored with "Executive of the Year" Award
Greg Edwards, President and CEO of the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau and Des Moines Area Sports Commission, has been named 2014 Executive of the Year of Executive Women International’s Des Moines Chapter.
Edwards was awarded the honor on Monday evening at the chapter’s Executive Night, held at the Iowa Events Center. The award is presented annually to an executive who has exhibited exceptional support to the Des Moines Chapter of Executive Women International.
Edwards has been President and CEO of the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau since 2000. He serves on boards for the Greater Des Moines Partnership, YMCA Supportive Housing Campus, Iowa Destination Marketing Alliance and the Travel Federation of Iowa. Edwards is also a member of the US Travel Association, Iowa Society of Association Executives, the Rotary Club of Des Moines and the Greater Des Moines Committee. He is currently Chair of the Susan G. Komen Iowa Foundation Board of Directors. In 2013, Edwards also served as Board Chair of Destination Marketing Association International.
