Two Words to Describe Carlisle, Iowa? Growth and Change

Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce

December 12, 2018

Growth and change are two words that describe both the City of Carlisle and the Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce. The Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce has experienced some significant changes during the past year. The Chamber has hired a new Executive Director that comes to us with more than 20 years of experience in the Chamber world. We hope that this change will bring a new perspective to the community. Additionally, the City of Carlisle has hired a new City Administrator who is working hard to become acquainted with the business climate and the citizens of this community. New employees bring new ideas and energy to the communities that they serve.

The board of directors has been faithful for many years in providing stability to the business community by being pro-active and striving to represent the diversity of our professional and commercial businesses. This past year we have added a significant large employer to our business base when Pioneer established a presence on the north end of Carlisle. Our typical business climate consists of small businesses which are primarily owned and operated by residents of the local community. We are finding a resurgence of interest in the downtown area with two new businesses recently established.

In Carlisle’s residential corridor, we have seen growth through the Hubbell development. The Carlisle Community School District has seen growth and is now expanding their footprint on School Street. With this expansion, the district is striving to serve the youth of Palmyra, Easter Lake, Avon, Carlisle and Hartford to the best of their ability.

We are excited to see what is ahead for our small but growing community. We have a great opportunity for growth and the Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce will do what it takes to assist with the retention and growth of this wonderful city!
