Summer Fest: A Community Celebration

Summer Fest Pleasant Hill

July 8, 2024

As the days grow longer and the warmth of the sun beckons us outdoors, there is an undeniable excitement in the air — an anticipation that builds as we approach one of the most cherished events of the year: the Annual Summer Fest in Pleasant Hill. This event has become a staple in our community, a time when friends and families come together to celebrate the joys of summer with an array of activities that offer something for everyone. From a concert and dazzling fireworks to a parade and delightful family-friendly activities, Summer Fest is a perfect reflection of our community’s spirit and togetherness. We are changing things up a bit this year by spreading out the activities over two days.

July 26: Kicking Off with a Bang

Concert By the Lake

We kick things off with a concert featuring Suede at Copper Creek Lake Park from 6 – 9 p.m. The atmosphere is electric, with concertgoers of all ages dancing and singing along to their favorite tunes.

Momma Moody’s Grinders will be serving up her delicious food during the concert. Families spread out on picnic blankets or sitting in lawn chairs, enjoying their meals while soaking in the live music. The sense of camaraderie is palpable as neighbors, old friends and newcomers alike come together to share this magical experience.

Spectacular Fireworks Display

As the final notes of the concert echo into the night, all eyes turn skyward for the grand finale of Day 1: the fireworks display. This year’s show should be the most spectacular yet. Bursts of color light up the night sky, each explosion eliciting gasps and cheers from the crowd below. The fireworks are a symbol of celebration and unity, a visual representation of the joy and togetherness that the Summer Fest embodies.

July 27: Fun for the Whole Family

Parade Through Town

The festivities begin with the Parade through town at 10 a.m. We will start near Doanes Park and wind our way over towards City Hall. Participants will include local businesses and organizations, showcasing their creativity and spirit. If you would like to be a part of our parade, please contact our Executive Director.

Family-Friendly Activities

Continue the fun at Copper Creek Lake Park from Noon – 3 p.m. where we will have bounce houses, food vendors and other activities.

A Lasting Tradition

The festival is more than just an event; it’s a tradition that has woven itself into the fabric of our community. Each year, it brings new memories, new friends and a renewed appreciation for the place we call home.

The annual Summer Fest is a celebration of all that is good about summer and community. It’s a time to laugh, dance and play; to enjoy the simple pleasures of life and the company of loved ones. As we look forward to next year’s festival, we will be thinking of ways to bring more fun activities to the celebration, knowing that the best moments in life are those we share with others.

So, mark your calendars and get ready to embrace the joy of summer at Summer Fest. Whether you’re a long-time resident or a first-time visitor, there’s a place for you in our celebration. Come join us, and let’s make memories that will last a lifetime.
